The TEA Advocacy Boot Camp is a great day event for members to sharpen their advocacy skills. There are two all-day tracks to choose from: PECCA Conferencing or Racial and Social Justice. Members can choose the one track that most interests them. The event is free to all members, and lunch is included!
Track 1: PECCA Conferencing
Gain insight and valuable skills in collaborative conferencing. Learn from educators about successful strategies used in all areas of conferencing to get a strong and effective MOU. Whether you have gone through the conferencing process already or would like to learn more about how conferencing can be successful in your own local, this track will be valuable to you and your fellow teachers.
Track 2: Racial/Social Justice, and Cultural Competency
Justice is necessary for a free and democratic society—and for education. Knowledge of how inequities continue and how to recognize and address them is important for successful and welcoming schools. Every student, parent, colleague and community have unique and important cultural understandings that can and should be a part of teaching and learning. Empower your local association through this track to advocate for the education profession and our schools.
