REGISTER NOW for the 2021 TEA Summer Leadership Academy afternoon virtual sessions.
The Tennessee Education Association’s Virtual Summer Leadership Academy (SLA) will be held June 8 – 10. SLA will begin at 3:00 p.m. CST/4:00 p.m. EST on June 8. This year’s theme is “Lead Now to Shape the Future.”
The Academy is designed to create a framework of understanding and competency in the areas of leadership development and structure, relationship building, and membership growth and engagement. Valuable PDP sessions on working with special school populations and creating school climates that promote diversity and opportunity for students will be offered. At the conclusion of SLA, participants will come away with the knowledge and skills needed now to lead in the Association, their schools, and their communities to affect change in the future.
Keynote speakers include Meena Harris, founder of Phenomenal Woman and best-selling children’s author, and Tena Clark, Grammy-award winning music producer, CEO of DMI Music and Media Solutions, and civil rights activist.
There is no limit on the number of participants a local may have. Participation is open to all association officers, representatives, and members.

Upon conclusion of SLA, participants will receive a free copy of Kamala and Maya’s Big Idea written by keynote speaker, Meena Harris.
Register now to take advantage of the early bird registration fee of $25 per participant through April 30. After this date, the fee will be $35. The deadline for registration is Tuesday, June 1. All fees are nonrefundable and must be paid by this date. Registration is complete upon total payment of all conference fees.
